Ladies Watches

While the most popular ladies watches are dress watches, sport watches and specialty watches for women are gaining ground quickly.

As technology improves and components continue to get smaller, many special features such as chronographs, atomic time and solar power are able to fit into the smaller watch cases of ladies watches.

The first wristwatches made were for ladies. Prior to World War I, men used pocket watches. Since pocket watches were considered rather “manly” and were a little too bulky for women, several watch manufacturers started making smaller watches that could be worn on the wrist. Most of the early wristwatches for ladies simply used a ribbon to tie the watch to the wrist.
